Our Classes: What We Offer

Teens and Adults Classes

Our teens and adults program (ages 13+) is designed to offer a rigorous workout, high-quality judo instruction, and a supportive community that feels more like family than a class. First-time judoka learn how to roll, fall, and throw safely, while building the strong technical foundation necessary to practice judo effectively and confidently. Many of our teens and adults choose to compete on a regular basis, while others train purely for recreation—either way, we welcome anyone who wants to learn judo, whether for personal growth or competitive goals.

Beyond the physical benefits of improved strength,

conditioning, balance, and coordination, judo also develops mental toughness, discipline, and resilience. Teens and adults gain confidence, stress relief, and focus through challenging training that emphasizes problem-solving, perseverance, and mutual respect. The lessons learned on the mat often carry into school, work, and daily life.

Mile High Judo embodies a culture of community above all else, where everyone is welcome to learn judo in a safe, structured environment while forming meaningful, long-lasting friendships.

Kids Classes

Designed for kids ages 7 through 12 (younger students may be considered on a case-by-case basis), our kids program is taught in a safe, structured environment where the very first lessons focus on how to fall, roll, and practice judo safely. Students learn fundamental throws and groundwork, and as they continue to develop their skills, they earn stripes on their belt to visibly mark their progress and effort.

Classes begin with warm-ups, followed by drills, throwing and grappling practice, and games specifically designed to reinforce judo techniques in a fun, engaging way. These activities help improve coordination, balance, strength, and overall athleticism while keeping students motivated and excited to learn.

Beyond physical development, our program places a strong emphasis on character building. Judo teaches focus, discipline, respect, and resilience—skills that support success both on and off the mat. Before each promotion, students are required to complete a character assignment that demonstrates their understanding and application of specific character traits, reinforcing the values that define Mile High Judo.
